IBC Meeting Dates
The deadline for submitting a protocol application and supporting documents to the Office of University Research Compliance for IBC review is two weeks prior to the date of the next meeting. Information received after the two week cutoff date will automatically be placed on the agenda for the following IBC meeting. A minimum of two weeks is required to process the documents, perform reviews, and distribute the forms to committee members for review prior to the meeting. Some protocol applications will not need to be reviewed at a convened meeting of the IBC.
In general, the higher the risk (e.g., select agents or prions) the longer it is likely to take to obtain approval. Investigators are cautioned to allow ample lead time for lab inspection and protocol review.
